Is there any one who believes after infidelity a marriage could survive?

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

For women or men I’m just curious how many actually had the heart to forgive? Truly forgive? Do you know of anyone who went through this? Was there a set time on the healing process for them?

For me, it was impossible to forgive and forget. But, I know of many couples who actually survive infidelity.

How many marriages have survived infidelity?

How did you move on? Is it possible to live happily ever after? I just found out my husband cheated and i dont know whether to stay or leave. He wants to go to counseling and he says he is sorry. Please tell me your stories.
we have no children and it lasted for about 4 months

In your situation from what you wrote I would go for the counseling, and try my best to be accepting to him admitting his mistake and wanting to make it work, and do your best, being receptive, give him the chance to prove that he is truly sorry and that he will never hurt you again, and that is all you can do. and then you can take it from there… Good luck! But don’t forget, it will always be in the back of your mind! But if you decide to give it a shot with your man, you cannot bring it up any more while trying.

Have you ever know of marriage that survived infidelity or of any betrayed spouse that was able to trust their?

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

spouse again?

Yes, ME. My wife cheated on me approximately 5 yrs into our marriage. We had a few other issues so we sought marriage counseling. We interviewed several and found a good one. Through therapy with him, she found out why she did it, and I learned to forgive her. We put our marriage back together stronger than it was before. We have had another 35 yrs together since then. She never repeated and I have never mentioned it again.

How many marriages survive infidelity?

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

If they did or did not, what did you learn from this and what would you have done if you had a chance to do this all over again

Marriages can survive infidelity through counselling. The couple can actually get to an understanding of the motivation and to resolve the problem. They can also develop a more honest, equal realtionship. They both have to want the relationship to get better.

I’ve also seen couples in counselling who have learned more about why they should not be together and have been able to split up and remain civil to each other.

I don’t need to cheat, there is no reason to learn lessons that I have learned when I was kid watching other people mess up their lives.
