How can you be confident that someone gives you good marital or relationship advice?
Is it based on them having a Top Contributor badge on YA?
Do you ever wonder how some earn these badges?

If the answer seems to make sense and seems like it could possibly work, then it is a good one.

You can be confident if your intuition agrees with them. Sometimes they have been through the same situation and give good answers from experience and/or common sense. I have also had great advice from people who don’t have the badge. At times, I reluctantly know that what they are saying is right even though it’s not what I want or hope for. I earned my badge by the number of contributions made which is quite small compared to others.

The fact is nobody gives good relationship advice here because most questions don’t give enough real data to allow you to give good advice. and the ones who get detailed get berated for being too long…

After a while the difference between kitchen counsellors and professional counsellors becomes obvious.
Same here. The difference between mature and immature is like a neon sign.
The educated evolutionary difference speaks for itself.
The best answer is not always the right or healthiest answer but is often what the person wants to hear. Example:
Junkie: Should i get stoned tonight?
Best Answer: Of course you should. It’s good for you.
Right answer: You’re an idiot!
